Type of Opal -This is an elegant 25 x 15 mm oval polished Australian Boulder Opal from Eromanga, Queensland. It's 10.84 ct, a different sort of opal that I love for the subtlety of it's pastel colours and bright sparks. The background is a light colour with nice greens and reds at different angles, I've done my best to photograph them although it's much better in real life. I hand polished it and it's wrapped with Sterling silver wire with a nice weave bail.
Material - Sterling silver wire.
Size - The finished pendant measures 40 mm long x 15 mm wide.
Necklace - 45cm Sterling silver plated chain.
Packing - Your pendant comes in an organza bag and a padded bag for posting, sent securely packed and tracked.
I source my opals from local Australian miners and cut and polish them myself. It's often a messy thing to do requiring a lot of patience and persistence, often with muddy and waterlogged fingers, as there are many stages of grinding and polishing for each one. Yet a glorious delight to find that colour within a stone, something that has never been seen before. I tend to like the unusual ones, the unique and different that bring such natural beauty. All opals are solid unless otherwise stated.
The essence of Australia, a wonderful gift.
